I believe that Obama was born in Hawaii--but the birthers have an argument against your statement. If I remember, it was that his mother was not yet 18 when he was born, or something like that. So, if he were born in a foreign country the natural born parent rule does not apply. Something like that.

Obama's first book had a couple of items that could be spun to raise suspicion--something like his mother couldn't find documents to prove his claim to part of his estate-unlike his American stepmother for her kids. However, he had earlier said that he found a clipping about his dad among papers like his birth certificate. There are several discrepancies in his book that are not helpful to dispelling the birther movement. Probably due to family lore more than deceit.

There's also the speculation that his Indonesian stepfather adopted him--he did go by Barry Sotero for many years. I don't know if that would affect anything.

It is puzzling why Obama did not release it earlier.






At that time, if a child was born overseas, the parents were not married, the father was not a US citizen and the mother was, the mother had to have lived in the US for four years after the age of 14 in order for the child to get automatic citizenship. Since Obama's mother was 17, she could not meet the requirement of living in the US for four years after the age of 14.

It's all moot anyway since Obama was born in the USA.

The counter that Hillary "started" the birther movement is again a simple minded retort that puts no real thought behind the actual argument. Its simply a phrase parroted by numb skulls that they got from their echo chamber news and just repeat when this comes up.

Even if we are to assume Hillary started it, she did not drag it out into some long obnoxious and annoying episode. She didnt request Obama provide a birth certificate. It was never an issue during the 2008 primary and was not spoken about by her in any significant way. The number of words I used just to explain this is more than Hillary spent "starting" the birther movement.

Saying she started it, doesnt excuse Trump's continued efforts to imply that Obama is "other". I get you mouth breathers want to believe Obama is some Kenyan Muslim (who happened to go to a church with a Rev. Wright. Try to break that down for me? Never mind. Id like to preserve brain cells), but stop being dumb and move on.

Cruz was never "declared" anything. No court ever ruled on his eligibility to be president, Trump threatened to sue but never did.

I think Obama has a stronger claim of being natural born than Cruz, or John McCain or George Romney for that matter.

And, I totally agree with him about our military plans and national security. Our current administration has said way too much publicly in the way of their plans. Why telegraph our moves to our enemies? Yet, this same administration has been not at all transparent when it comes to domestic policies and initiatives. One has to wonder why this is.

No, it hasn't been debunked. HRC's campaign started with the dog whistle racist attacks on Obama questioning his Americanism. That then spawned other HRC supporters in 2008 taking it one step further with the birther movement. After HRC conceded, some HRC supporters continued with the birthed argument and then it was picked up by people on the right and amplified. There is no doubt that HRC's dog whistle racism directed at her supporters directly spawned the birther movement. Eventually Trump investigated the very serious allegations and in 2011 he successfully forced resolution of the issue that was spawned by HRC's campaign in 2008.


Very serious allegations by whom? Him? Fuck Trump. I can't believe that Obama even addressed it.
