Agreed. If you want control over your view then go buy 50 acres somewhere.
Really? You think it's ok for him to buy a plot of land, petition to be allowed to build 3 houses on it, sell the houses to unsuspecting people, join a zoning board and help change the rules to allow himself to build a garage next to the property line, then purposely build his garage directly in front of their kitchen window? It may be legal but it is a very jerky move. I live in the neighborhood and see his signs all the time and I will never hire him after reading this.
Yes I think it is ok, news flash shit changes. The people in control and who are proactive typically turn out alright. I have little sympathy for people who just hoped stuff would happen. Besides it's delray, they are luckily they don't live next door to some flop house with 5 families cramed in it.
Got it, you're also a big jerk. Ok.
Rather be a jerk than a victim. Sounds like your menopause is flairing up again, you should do something about that.
Wow. This explains a lot. Does this sum up many people? Wow. What a narrow, immature, ignorant and unenlightened view on life.

Oh the irony.
Did you read the article? The jerk neighbor built their house!
Right. But it isn't like the bought a house and then the property line moved. They bought it knowing full well it was on the line. Even a 6 ft. set back is still really close if your house sits so close to your own property line.

Anonymous wrote:He sounds psycho. And incredibly manipulative especially if he was on the zoning board so he could give himself permission to build. Now, isn't that convenient.
Anonymous wrote:I'm not defending asshat Nichols but didn't the Linehans have work done on their house? I know they switched the locations of the kitchen and the dining room but did this renovation push their new kitchen out to the edge of their property line further than when they bought it? So essentially encroaching on Nichols property line? I have no idea. Just know there has GOT to be more to this weird story

Anonymous wrote:If they had bought the house with the current setback rules in place, I would have no sympathy for them, but they bought the property when the requirement was one thing and then Jerkitecht changed the rules, right?
I'm in Arlington, and there are rules about the distance between buildings and rules about the setback. A lot of the houses were grandfathered in. So your neighbor may have a house that comes within a yard of the property line, but you can't build something that does the same, because there has to be 12' (I think) between houses.
