Are you my BIL? You do not need to keep a conversation going nonstop. Lulls are ok. Some people like a moment to think.
No. I'm well aware that I don't need to keep a conversation going nonstop and lulls are okay. But some people are so horrible at holding conversations that one has to go with asking questions. Usually the person you're speaking with is self centered and doesn't ask questions in return or know how the flow of a conversation should go.

"I really like these eggs. I like how I cooked them. I got the eggs at Wegmans. First I thought I'd get the cage-free eggs, then I decided on the organic eggs. They were over in a different section. First I walked to the wrong section. They were on sale. It was really busy there when I got them. I cooked them in my favorite pan. I really like that pan. I got it on Amazon. blah blah blah blah."

Hahahah... I think we may have the same neighbor. I can't wait to get away from her. It's always rapid-fire questioning.
I think I also have the same neighbor. The non-stop questions plus judgmental tone have caused me, a grown woman, to actively avoid her when I can. I am a friendly and chatty person, but it's nonstop!!
Hi S, how are you?
Good! I noticed you haven't been in the yard lately!
Oh yeah just been busy with work?
Why are you so busy?
It's our busy season I guess.
When is your not busy season? You're a always running off and leaving your family!
Haha okay! (I start speed walking to my car)
Is your husband okay with you working SO MUCH? What does your MIL think? I like that dress but it looks expensive. Probably bought it because you feel so bad about working right?
Um I got it at JCrew on clearance.
When? I go there all the time. Maybe it was on clearance since you're a bigger siZe? What size are you, 14? Do you think you'd exercise more if you worked less?
Byeeeee (I slam the door shut and peel off.)
Seriously with these rapid fire questioners no amount of information is enough and they're just rude. Way different than someone who just wants to make polite conversation.

For some people, they are very hard to acquire. My DC is one. Despite being in a structured social group from 4th grade to 12th grade, he still has quite a bit trouble. Not everyone can acquire them.
