Please call in off-leash dogs. My child has twice been lunged at and chased by dogs off leash. He is now absolutely terrified of dogs. We are also lucky he hasn't been seriously hurt.
And for those of you who have well-trained dogs but walk them off leash, I'm sorry, but I'm calling you in as well. When your dog is off the leash, other people think it's okay to have their badly mannered dogs off leash too.
+2 My kids were attacked by a pack of (like 7) off leash dogs who were about 300 yards up hill ahead of their absolutely insane dog walker from Virginia. One kid was pinned down by a dog twice his size and my little one was frozen nose to nose with a snarling bull dog. Terrifying. So now my kids hate dogs. Great.
In the RCP trails?

You call animal control.
To find the correct number Google rock creek park and call the general information line.
But please let the police deal with real issues.
Hi, I'm a National Park Service employee within the education division of RCP, and you are incorrect. The rangers won't respond, that's true, but the US Park Police in Dist. #3 will.
Great. What is that number?? It does seem senseless and silly to call the police. But there are some pretty inconsiderate and repeat offenders that have gone after myself and dogs. Do the park police ever monitor the trails for this sort of thing? I have never seen any...
I guess I just don't understand. Why don't you head over to Arlington and run your dogs over there? Be it in one of the parks, or on a fenced in baseball diamond or a fenced school playground (for a smaller dog)? Not only won't animal welfare officers respond, but the police will tell refer you to said animal welfare officers. Thus, nobody responds and you're left alone to play as you see fit.
Done and done.
Your ideas are not viable alteratives. Dogs are not permitted on school grounds in Arlington. I don't think they're allowed on the baseball diamonds either, but not certain.

You two are so alike it's scary.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:You should just stop going to the park, you whinging, rule-obsessed twat. It's the woods ffs. Go walk your dog on the sidewalk or street leashed. My dog needs to run fast and chase wildlife in the woods. So sick of you assholes. I've been taking dogs to the trail off Parkside near Beach for 40 years and you whinging newcomers can f*ck right off.
I'm sorry you're poor. It must be difficult for you, to witness all the changes going on around your little brick SS rambler as this area just gets wealthier every year.
Affluent professional moving in all around you, reminding you of what you don't have /can't buy. And the worst of it? those successful professional women twats! who outearn you 5 to 1. Their law-abiding habits are just the last straw, huh?

It's a National Park, pal, where off-leash dogs are ILLEGAL. Got it?
I do run in the park with my dog off leash. I know it's illegal. However, I ALWAYS leash him when I see little kids. If someone has a dog on a leash, I beep my dog to let him know not to go near. I assume that if a dog is leashed, the owner doesn't want my dog to interact. Sometimes the owner will say ok and then I'll let him go.
Yes, I am breaking the law, but I do try to be considerate.
Stop it.
