How about another -tia or -cia name like

Lucrecia, Patricia, Sancia, Felicia, Latitia

Don't like the name at all, unless the person using it has a thick Italian accent it sounds tacky aspirational (Porsche) or tacky pretentious. But more importantly, if one of you hates the name, keep looking. There are lots of names out there, you can agree on one!

If you don't like it, I think that's your answer. What was the name he went back on?

My husband and I changed our backup name the weekend before my c-section. Then wound up using the new name just 48 hours later. The front runner name just did not fit.

If he likes Portia, what about something like Tanith or Felice/Felicia/Felicity? These were names I liked but we couldn't use.

To me, it's okay, but it's an old lady name. Like Clara or the aforementioned Beatrice. I hear these names and think of little old blue haired ladies who walk slowly and have afternoon tea.

How about Pearl?

What about Pia instead? I like it much better than Portia.

All I think of is the daughter of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills OR Ellen Degeneres' girlfriend.

Aside from that, it sounds pretentious and at the same time, it sounds like Porch or Porsche.

I'll just point out that Portia de Rossi's real name is Amanda Lee Rogers. Just in case your husband thinks Portia is a great name because he thinks she's hot.
