So how exactly are the Republicans looking out for middle America?
well for one, they stopped dems from raising taxes on the POOR. you must not recall how hard Pelosi and the rich dem machine on the hill tried that one. and yes, the bush tax cuts go all the way down to income brackets of about 7000/year.
they also tried to stop the dems im-too-poor-to-buy-health-insurance tax penalty. so now, of you cannot afford insurance, you owe addional taxes too. brilliant.
Wait, last election y'all said 50% of Americans pay no taxes at all. Now we find out that people making $7000 a year are paying taxes?
Can you please provide a guide so that we can tell which bullshit is to be believed on which days?
Heres a rate chart http://www.bankrate.com/finance/taxes/tax-brackets.aspx
These are rates on taxable income. Ok so with a standard deduction plus 1 exemption, I figure you have taxable income when earning over about $10,000/year ($5/hr), so not 7,000 my bad.
You forgot tax credits. When you add in those, often people get back more than they paid in.
Single taxpayers get none when they make over about $14,000/year. thats about $7/hour or minimum wage. no earned income tax credit.

There is no middle America left. After 8 years, there are the poor conservatives and the wealthy liberals.

Ugh...you reminded me that the Fourth of July--a bourgeois, jingoistic day if there ever was one--is coming up. Fat people, suntan lotion, and hot dogs. Noooooo....'Murica.
