This is what I've never understood about the birther movement. Even if he were born in Kenya, it wouldn't matter. He still a US citizen because his mother is a US citizen. His place of birth is simply a relevant.

Course, it's been proven that he was born in Hawaii. ( Longform birth certificate was released) but it doesn't matter, since he would be a natural born citizen by virtue of his mom's citizenship are no matter what.


Ahh! You don't understand how this works. Obama is black - actually half black - and that means that he not only needs to be born in the US but his parents also need to be natural born.

Now Cruz, OTOH, is a Hispanic white, and so the same rules don't apply even though he was born in Canada and his parents were naturalized.

Place of birth is irrelevant. Sorry I am dictating to my phone. Anyway the child of a US citizen is a US citizen no matter where they are born.
