Violence against women? Now, there's a problem.
Your boys will survive this.
It is a problem when ANYONE, boy or girl, is subject to being hit, kicked, poked, or pinched at school. Everyone has a right to be free from violence and to protect their own body.
I have told my sons very clearly that they should NEVER hit a girl or woman first, but if she hits you, put her on the floor and then get away from her. Do what you have to do to protect your body.
Way to teach your child to end up in prison some day. You sound like a nut job, and just the kind of poster OP has been tirelessly searching for.

A man isn't going to go to prison for defending himself. At most, he is going to get a misdemeanor charge. If he pushes self-defense as an affirmative defenses to the charges, he probably isn't even going to take a conviction on it.
Teach your girls not to hit and there is no problem.
Yes, if a man hits a woman after she hits him, he can get in serious trouble for it, if he hurts her. Even if he doesn't hurt her, he could get fired, lose a scholarship, etc.
Remember FSU QB De'Andre Johnson?

He got 10 days of community service and a fine under $1000. We can chance that. It's better than allowing someone to abuse you.
And kicked off the team.
She wasn't "abusing" him. And nobody should allow anyone to abuse them. They should walk away.

For the most part, my boys have come to understand that they need to stay away (though often the girls are chasing them, like I said it's often a ploy for their attention), and they sometimes tell the teacher. There is the aspect of not wanting to appear like a wimp, so there is reluctance to do that.
I'm more interested in hearing why girls think it's okay to do this.
Based on many responses so far, it's sadly become clear that they learn from their parents that it's okay, and impressed upon the girls that the MOST important thing is making sure the boys know their place and put up with it.
nailed it, op. I'm constantly reminding DD that the most important thing is ruling the third grade boys in her class with an iron fist. They're not going to subjugate themselves, FFS!
Me too! Took the words out of my mouth.
Simmer down, OP. Most girls don't think it's ok.
Anonymous wrote:What kind of Mad Max style schools do your kids attend where these marauding girls are routinely assaulting your kids, to the extent you've developed a "take-down" plan for when they come for your child? ("Put her on the ground" pp? Wtf?)

I am a woman and probably one of the most feminist people on this board. I don't tolerate violence, though, in any form from any one. I don't expect my boys to tolerate it either. If a person is physically violent, then they have earned a physically violent response.
Then I guess you do tolerate physical violence.
The use of violence in self-defense is necessary. I suppose I do tolerate the use of violence in self-defense.
Is your child's life in danger from these girls? Can your DS not walk away, or talk to a teacher? No skills? Just fists? Hard to respect people who act like cavemen.
Walking away and talking to a teacher usually doesn't stop anything. Bullying just continues behind the teacher's back. Returning violence with violence typically puts paid to whatever is going on.
No one asked for your respect. Respect from people like you isn't worth having.

There are some girls like that at my DS's school. I tell him to stay away from them -- not because they are going to get him to hit them (already taught him not to hit people) but because I want him to grow up having healthy relationships with girls and eventually healthy relationships with women. Avoid the nut jobs and focus on the nice ones. But OP and the others are only focused on their child winning some stupid playground battle with a little girl. Pathetic.

Then repeat in other conversation, Susie is getting violent because she's angry I won't go out with her/be her friend.
And yes, you CAN hit a girl. You can hit anyone who stands between you and safety.
