Was he supposed to work on that show until he died? People have a right to move on and make choices they feel is good for their lives. She has the choice to leave the show as well. Damn!

I don't understand why Kelly Ripa is so upset. Is she mad that (1) he didn't tell her first or ask her permission, (2) is she mad that maybe the GMA gig is considered more prestigious and she should have gotten it instead, (3) is she jealous because he is probably going to make more money?

I can understand maybe being hurt not being told first before the news broke in the press, but it's work, not a sorority or high school. Kelly pouting and not showing for work gives women in the work place a bad name IMO, that we are too emotional, etc. If I were her, I would show my professionalism and show up for work, maybe use this as an opportunity to negotiate for more salary, or perks or a say in the next co host. But she's not the boss, so she needs to calm down.

No, they announced she'll be out through (at least) Tuesday. Apparently, Thurs and Fri were previously scheduled vacation days for her (they tape Fri's show on Thurs).

I think people get pretty attached to their morning shows. I've never understood it, since I'm almost always at work.

Even if I was home, I wouldn't watch the national morning shows. Everything is out on the internet, and if I want to watch a celebrity interview, I can wait till it pops up online.
