Some want to stay friends so they can bang your friends - or she has the hots for one of your friends and if she stays friends with you (and in your circle) she'll have more opportunity.

Because women can find a new guy within one week.

This is true. When a woman makes her self available and the potential for sex is involved guys will lineup. Personally I don't remain friends with exes. I see no need but I just want to move on with my life I don't need to hear about how her new guy sexing her up. If I end up meeting another woman to concentrate on her anyways don't make room for previous drama

This is why if I am ever reincarnated I want to come back as a woman. Never having to make the first move, meals paid for, sex whenever you want, and unlimited romantic possibilities.

+ You will live longer, but watch out for STDs and unplanned pregnancies!

Only if you're a moderately attractive woman. If you're not and you're below moderately attractive, you don't have it so good.

But in general, you're pretty much right.

Being friends with a ex is the worst thing, you are sabotaging your future. I wouldn't date anyone that was friends with a ex because mostly there's a reason they are keeping them on the back burner.

Thanks. I know that it takes 2 to tango. Just wish she would have put the effort into figuring it out sooner. She's an impressive woman who really prioritizes her career ambitions. I'm proud of her success but wish she could also prioritize her personal life too.

She is prioritizing her personal life. You're clearly not the priority.

Sorry.

Anonymous wrote:I'm going through a break up right now after a 5 year relationship. It's mostly mutual, although she was the one who had the balls to end it. I think it would have taken me a little while longer. We'd both like to remain friends, although it's slightly more awk for me because she lost the loving feelings/attraction to me (not the other way around). OTOH, what has gotten awk is that she's in her late 30s and I'm in my early 30s. There are times where I can see the desperation/resentment re: biological clock and dating market value. It's sad because I love her and want it to work, but she just isn't into me anymore. Yet, I can tell she resents that she's starting over close to 40.

Who cares? You have your whole entire life in front of you. She's over the hill.

I ran into an old bf while out with new bf and hadn't seen or spoken to him in over 10yrs. He introduced me to his friends as an old friend. I had had a few drinks and was kinda snarky. "We aren't friends, haven't spoken to you in 10 yrs. I am the old girlfriend from 10yrs ago" is how I reintroduced myself. I don't care to be friends with old bf. Usually really good reason why we broke up and wouldn't want a friend under the same circumstances.
