OP asked which is the most trendy -- I vote the metallic silver tiles. Tiles, unlike large hunks of granite, can be easily taken out in 10-15 years if you get tied of them.

I hate the beige tumbled marble / travertine. It looks very dated, especially with 4" square tiles.
A bright white / grey marble subway time can look good and fresh.
Me too. My reno home done in 2012 has the big beige travertine tiles for the kitchen and bathroom floors and beige granite and I'm at a loss as far as,what color to paint over the buff beige walls. It's a sea of beige but I'm not in an Aveda spa.

Ugh I hate all of those examples. SO UGLY! Those are trends that are going to be in style for literally a minute and then 10 years from now people will wonder what in G-d's name they were thinking.
Do you really not plan on updating your kitchen for more than 10 years? There's a pretty good chance your kitchen is already "SO UGLY."
