There are at least 10 posters saying this. Not just one. I think by calling people a troll you think it will make people forget about the unimpressive list of schools. I really hope that Latin will continue to get better and the colleges will improve. Kind of surprised by the defensive attitude of current parents.

We're not at DCI yet, still at YY, but in our experience once a child is in, then other siblings get in. I'm confused how you got WL'd with a sibling preference. Did they say that they were making an exception this year?

We were told because they are stuck in the incubator space for one more year that they only have accepted transfer students (from feeder schools) at this point. They don't know yet whether or how many spaces may open up after the enrollment deadline. Any accepted transfer students or current 6th grade students not planning on attending next year????

Both kids weren't attending the same elementary school. The one who wasn't needs to apply via lottery to get in.

Read the thread on Latin's incredibly unimpressive college acceptance list and their limited course offerings. Seems to me like a great school for average kids.

Meh, how many years have they actually had a graduating class? Three? Given the circumstances, it looks pretty good.

Other schools (SWW, Wilson) offer more AP level classes than Washington Latin. Walls is larger (~590 vs. ~304) but that is a differentiator.

WL's uniforms were a negative in my kid's mind. I liked that part.

The course offerings seem normal to me--am I missing something? What courses should Latin have that they don't? I see the standard AP English, Bio, Chem, Calc, Stat, etc., three languages to choose from plus Latin, normal four years of history/English etc. Serious question. What amazing classes do other schools have?

Small cohort is a plus. All the middle schools we're considering have small groups. Not interested in a huge middle school. Hardy is a possibility.
