Same...well, used to. We summer in a fairly ritzy waterfront community and the nearest coffee shop had plexy glass for Covid-19 at the register, so when you used a card, the cashier would ask you verbally if you'd like them to put a tip on the card, so out loud you'd have to say "no" or however much you're tipping to everyone standing in line could hear. Super nervy and invasive and left a bad taste in my mouth. Quit going.

I only tip waiters at sit down restaurants, movers, and hotel room cleaners.

Wow, that’s pretty nervy. If anyone asked me that I would be sure to say yes.

TBH, I'm not sure how to tip at a drive-thru. There's a plastic cup by the window, but I never have cash on me. With a card, there's no chance to leave a tip since I'm not the one running it through.

Do you guys think the tips actually go to the workers at these places? Or do they go to the owners? I'm not sure. There is no law that directs Starbucks, Panera, Subway, Mod Pizza, etc. franchise owners to distribute this extra revenue to their employees.

Some people tip, but it's totally not expected or required.
