Take from that what you will
Names that I have bad connotations w are more plentiful and I won't list them bc who cares but I'll just say that I've never known a Matt or a Jason who wasn't kind of a jerk. Also seem to be a lot of bad Joshes and Tylers out there
No way! My brother-in-law is a Jason and one of the nicest men I've ever met. I also have an ex-boyfriend named Jason, but the niceness-factor isn't why we broke up.
Good luck naming your kid, OP. I'm due in a couple of weeks and can't come up with a boys name either!

I like Tim and Andy, but DH doesn't.
We have talked a lot about Peter, but I don't really like Pete. Is Peter still a nice guy name?
I was raped by a Pete in college, so not a nice guy name to me. (I realize that's not a universal quality. Still. Gives me shivers.)
Patrick or Jack would be my choices. Nate is good too.
Discretion is the better part of valor, PP.
Are you saying I should be discrete about the person who raped me?
The OP asked for opinions about names. I shared mine. It's authentic. Deal with it.
Yes, discrete to an expectant mother whose DH can both agree on the name. You need to deal with what happened to you in a more constructive way. BTW, I was raped too, and I wouldn't weigh in on a name like this. You're being rude not authentic.
