I hate Safeway, as a rule.

PP who asked about Costco: yes, they have organic ground beef and chicken. Milk (though I don't like it) and eggs, butter, etc.

Not much organic produce, but some.

We love Aldi. It doesn't have the best selection, but it has most of what you need. The savings there are real too. Probably about 40% cheaper than most other stores. Don't get the love for Wegman's.

I try to stock up on meat and other staples so when I need something in a pinch it is usually a vegetable or fruit and I don't mind paying $1 more at the other stores to miss the crowds.

I don't do any shopping at Giant, Safeway or any of those types of stores. They are all dark, seem dirty, constantly have people in the isles restocking etc.. Just super annoying when I have very little time to get things done

Those are the stores for the poors.

I definitely didn't mean anything about poor or affluent! I am definitely not rich! We buy very little processed food so my main purchases are fruits and vegetables which seem to be close in price at most stores but better quality at Whole Foods or the smaller markets!

I thought it was LA. Mildly funny--with the emphasis on mildly. I'd take a WF in CA over the WF in Clarendon any day of the week.

Buy from a local butcher or farm.

We buy our meat at the Amish market. There are several in this area.
+1 I loved living in Silver Spring when the Amish market was right up Route 29. Now it is in Laurel. The meat was sooooooooooo fresh though!
