Many of the Founding Fatgers weren't truly Christian.

Separation of Church and State isn't specifically in the Constitution, but it was definitely part of the Federalist Papers that were written to explain why they had done what they had done.

I guess my beef is that it is done so frequently as to be somewhat mindless for the kids. I also don't think saying a pledge is as meaningful as living out its creed. We should spend more time doing and less time saying.
