I would normally leave without her. BUT -- if explicitly ordered to babysit her, I would have:
1. Called her to make sure she was up.
2. Called to make sure she was on her way.
3. Knowing she had never traveled before, walked her through each and every step: here's how the security lines work, here's what you might want to wear, here's our seat selection, here's the bathroom. Yeah, that level of detail.
You might think about how you approach someone this inexperienced. It makes me think about how parents write posts about "Why does my kid not know how to find a lost library book?" BECAUSE THEY DON'T.

The time to complain was when the job was assigned. If you don't think it is in your job description to shepherd a moron through an airport (and it probably isn't), you shouldn't have left any impression that you would be responsible for it.

I do think you should have told her about the no liquids thing though. If she has only ever flown once, she probably wouldn't be paying any attention to that kind of thing. But that is probably why you told her to be so early for the flight - so you would have plenty of time to work out any issues.
Exactly. This "failure" was predicated on the idiot not waking up on time. If she had gotten there 3 hours early like you told her, you would have had no problems at all. Really, sounds like you will have to eat this one, but your manager is a dick. Are you supposed to have her sleep over at your house the night before?
Hopefully this employee is sufficiently shamed by her own fuck up, but somehow I doubt it.

Fwiw, in my mid 30's I went to take my DD to Disneyland and it was my first time flying in like seven years. I underestimated how long it would take using mass transit to get to the airport. We got there with five minutes to spare and I wondered why the flight wasn't boarding. Turned out they'd moved the gate. I forgot that could happen and we missed our flight by two minutes. We got on a flight like 90 minutes later. You can forget how to fly.

On your first post I was on your side. After this post, I think you blew it. If she is this new to travel, you have to assume she knows nothing and tell her everything. You were assigned to babysit, after all, so it's obvious that she needed a baby sitter.

Yes, this. I walked her through how to get a credit card, walked her through our booking system, made sure we were on the same flights together, made sure she knew what attire was expected at a supplier visit, and made sure we had a place to meet at the airport so I could walk her through everything else. I really didn't know that anyone, even someone who doesn't travel, didn't know you can't bring big bottles of liquids on a plane. It's been all over the news for 10 years! When she walked toward the checkpoint with her giant bag, I almost had a panic attack because I realized what I was dealing with.
