Like English. Not so much northern England/Scotland/Ireland.

I'm Australian and I can't tell the difference between Australian & New Zealanders' accents.

Not liking the hate on here for Aussie accents!! I'm told at least once a week that my accent is "lovely" ... I guess they're just trying to make me feel better!

Well, you know, I sure am sorry, but I like my accent.

Love Scandinavian accents and assorted British ones though I don't know the names of them. i agree that educated Soutern accents are beautiful. i find Cali accents grating and lots of Asian accents hard to listen through.

There is no such thing as "the Louisiana accent". There are lots of different Louisiana accents. There are even lots of different accents just in New Orleans.

I like Minnesotan, Edinburgh Scots, posh southern, especially posh New Orleans which is something else, and Yorkshire.

Dislike: Brummey, Glaswegian, Texan, Northern Irish.

Hate: Dutch and other misc. Europeans who speak with an American accent and slang rather than British. It grates.

There are a few southern accents that I love too- If you have upper elementary school children pick up the audio version of "Love, Ruby Lavender" - those are fun. I like some of the New Orleans accents. I am partial to rural southwest Virginia too- some are really interesting to listen.

I don't see that anywhere in this thread. All the accents people are talking about, the ones they don't like, are used widely by "caucasean" (your spelling) people.
