OP, I'm so happy I read through all the messages. I like the name you chose! I was going to suggest Leroy but Roy Joseph sounds really nice. Congrats!

Haha, no, although I can see why you'd wonder that! I was a huge George Brett (Kansas City Royals) fan in the 80's though, so maybe that's why I like it!

LOL, wow, did not expect such positive response! My great-grandfather passed away when I was too young to remember him, but I heard lots of stories about "Papa Roy" while growing up. And I always assumed his full name was Roy Rogers. Talk about mind blown when I found out not only was he not Roy Rogers, but also he had no connection to the restaurants.

Now we just have to decide between Elias Roy and Roy Elias (Elias is another family name, so non-negotiable there).


I think Elias Roy flows better. It's a great name either way though!

I have an Elias, though pronounced the Spanish way--drives my kid crazy because people always pronounce it the English way. People also often shorten it to Eli, which he doesn't miond.

Hmmmm, Roy Elias feels hard to say, somehow. I think I like Elias Roy better.

I also know a guy named Royston, which is a pretty cool name.

I like both Roy and Elias. I knew a nice kid in high school named Roy, so I have good associations with the name. Elias is a family name for me, too. I think it has a good, solid, strong sound to it.
