If I had to wait for it, it would take me hours.
I drink several cups of coffee in the morning before I can "go" and then I keep drinking and then I "go" again.
When out and about, I only "go" when it's knocking on the door already. then I sit, push as I flush and then flush again and try to get the hell out of there. I try to avoid going in public places. no need to envy me that it comes right when I sit down. I sit down in public places on as a last resort and in last second.

Spanx tights! I poop like five times a day when I wear them. (I don't wear regular Spanx, so I don't know if those help.)

Eat a LOT of plants (not a lot of meat/dairy). Exercise. Drink a lot of water. Coffee in the morning. I poop 2-3x a day, and it takes no longer than a pee.

I feel the "urge" - like pressure bearing down. Make a trip to the bathroom. Push. Wipe. Exit. I don't leave a smell or trace (honestly).

Repeat an hour later for my 2nd morning poop.

I'm always confused by people like you, OP. What are your habits like? I've always wondered who the people are who stink up a public restroom. What are your eating habits like?

Try counting your blessings and not judging.

It's healthier to go several times a day.

Oh, for heaven's sake. everyone is different and, as with MOST THINGS, there is a *range* of normal. I hate know-it-alls who think whatever they do is The Way.

Yeah, because every single thing about a person is 100% under his or her control. People are different.

Who said that?

And yes, many (though not every) thing is under a person's control. I've never met a person on a mostly plant-based diet, who exercised regularly and drank a lot of water, that had trouble pooping.

So you discuss this with all your "mostly plant-based diet" friends? Freak.

Consider taking powdered magnesium in water for a morning and evening drink.

Pooping is supposed to be easy.

I poop easily but won't poop in a public restroom if someone else is in there. Seems uncivilized.

Squatty Potty rocks! I go daily, OP, and it's always soft (and difficult to clean after), but i have to lay on my side, reading and relaxing for 20 to 30 minutes before I can go. Then I feel the urge and it's over quickly. It's nearly impossible for me to poop on vacation. I totally get your frustration.

Our family MD actually will treat you for constipation if you (as an adult, with no other complicating issues) don't generally poop every day. Will recommend upping fiber, upping water, probiotics, and taking magnesium supplement.

I try to avoid going in public places, so if I have to poop in a public restroom I wait as long as possible so that it just slides out (usually done in the time it takes to flush the toilet). It only takes a while if I try to force myself to go before it's ready. Female for what it's worth.

It's not unusual to go less than once per day. It is unusual for it to be hard for you to do. Long term constipation is what it sounds like to me.
