EXACTLY. Love the name, OP, and I don't think she'll get a nickname unless she WANTS one. Just make sure you and she always introduce her as Sabrina, and make sure caregivers/other adults in her life when she is young call her by her full name, too, even if other children call her Sabby or whatever. Just reinforce Sabrina over and over. I have a three syllable name and have never had a nickname that stuck.

Yup, I'm going with a couple crazy 20 somethings, as well.

I named my own kid Something heavily associated with a public figure who is either loved or hated. I didn't name after this person-but I don't mind the association. It was a great name with a great meaning. It checked all my boxes for what I wanted for a name. I've never heard negative comments and as far as I know, neither has my child. My kid actually seems to think it's pretty cool to share a name with this person. Now, I'm sure it is what people think when they hear it, but most adults can keep opinions to themselves.

My name is Samantha and I've gotten that for years and years. "Can you wiggle your nose?" Once a woman told me that even white witches were from the devil. I was 9. SATC changed it a bit. Now some people just think I'm a slut.

Also just FYI everyone shortens my name to Sam. No matter if I say "Call me Samantha." EVERYONE.

I really don't care what my peers think about my baby's name. I've certainly never had a second thought about what my parents' friends or friends' parents thought about my name, I doubt baby Sabrina would.

Ok, but you are the adult. Are you going to tease a child for their name that is associated with a 15-20 year old show?

I would hope not. Bout children won't be familiar with this show. Her classmates won't automatically go there.

Of course not. But I'm sure her friends parents are going to say, "Sabrina, like the show?" Anyway do what you want. Personally I think it's cruel to do this to your daughter.

This is dramatic. Chances are they won't say that, and it was a cute show with a name that already existed. We aren't talking about someone naming their kid Macarena.

OP, ignore this. There are apparently like 3 people in their early 20s who think this is an issue. Everyone else's feedback has been that you might or might not get a NN which is basically the case with ANY multi-syllable name.

I'm 30. I watched the show every week. My friend has a daughter named Sabrina. It literally hasn't ever crossed my mind until this thread. It isn't like they made up a name. Sabrina was a well known name before the show. Now if she named her kid Salem, that would be a different story.
