I had a similar lump, and it went away in a few days. My doctor did an ultrasound just in case, but found nothing. He said it was probably a cyst or a swollen lymph gland, nothing to worry about. That was 5 years ago, and I've never had anything like it since. Try not to worry, OP.

I am also praying for you! I am currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer. I started with chemo and have surgery in two weeks, so I am not exactly sure about the stage. Regardless, I want to reassure you that you are experiencing the worst possible part of this right now. All of the anxiety and uncertainty of diagnosis is far worse than knowing exactly what's going on and having a clear plan to deal with it. So it will get better, I promise! Lean on your people right now and be kind to yourself. You can do this!!

Angela, I'm so sorry. I've been posting on this thread since you first posted. My sister is the one who was diagnosed at 37. When I read your post I immediately thought something was wrong. Please know that BC is very treatable. Survival rates these day are very high. The first few weeks are a whirlwind and you'll probably get some conflicting information until all tests are run. My sister had a very aggressive form and is now six years cancer free. It was a sucky year and it was tough. But she came out the other side and is happy and healthy as she ever was. Thank God you caught this. I'm praying for your recovery. You can beat this.

No deodorant and no lotion! They normally have wipes there if you have one of those on your skin. Good luck!!!

OP here,
I just signed in and spoke with the women taking my information. she informed me that because mine is a diagnostic mammogram the radiologist will speak to me during, or after. I am so nervous.I'm hoping my friend makes it here before I go back. they are doing both breasts, I don't know how I got that wrong.there is just a request for something on the right breast I tried to ask but she wasn't very nice. I'll come back later and update

When I have had lumps, I was told to get a mammogram "sometime," not that day. Also, as a side note, why did you decide to leave your ovaries when the rest of your family removed theirs?

I am taking it seriously.that is why I am waiting for them to call me with an appointment for this afternoon. my other family members, Grandmother, mother, great- aunts, aunts did not have a choice in removing their ovarie . They all had cancer and had to have hysterectomies. That's why my grandmother only had one child ( my mother.) I was trying to have a child first.

I think that makes sense, but in that case, I would definitely make sure that I at least consulted with an oncologist to determine my risks.

I will talk with my OBGYN and primary care physician about an oncology consult. I am just going to wait to see what the mammogram shows.

No, I tried to have children and it did not work, so my husband and I have closed that door.
Anyway, I am still waiting on the call. If I have not heard anything by 1:00 , I will call again.
