Yes, this scene still haunts me!

Yes

Agreed, but did he kill him? Are we talking about Edward Norton doing the stopping, b/c he obviously got out. Or the younger kid, didn't he also do it?

Norton did it. Killed him (and he didn't stomp his neck, I believe he made him "bite the curb" and stomped the back of his head.)

Yes exactly! Ugh makes me want to throw up even thinking about it.

Me, too. I hate it and think about it way too often.

Yes! I have rather poor "movie memory" and even that I really like "Love actually" it is almost like a new movie to me when I rewatch except for THAT scene. Probably the saddest scene in all of the Curtis' movies. And except for a great choice of a song there is not a single word spoken.

That scene is so overwrought, I can't even watch it. I watch that film every time it's on, but always flip to something else during that. To me the most moving part is after Shelby has the surgery and is talking to her coworker about Halloween, loses her balance a bit, then she goes home and passes out when she picks up her son.

The first scene of "Cliffhanger" where the girl's harness breaks and Sly Stallone can't save her.

The part of "It's a Wonderful Life" where Jimmy Stewart is at the bar and he says "I'm now a praying man" and he's almost crying. It always makes me cry.

Another vote for the curb-stomping scene in American History X. The shower rape scene stuck with me, too.

oh god. OH GOD. Me too.

I remember when I was a kid, my mom telling me she just couldn't watch that movie. At the time, I didn't understand why-sure it was sad, but so were a lot of movies we watched.

Then I grew up. And had kids.

I get it now, mom.

I have never seen such realistic portrayal of white people's bias is movie.

I still remember seeing that for the first time. I took an audible breath-it is such a powerful moment.

When Robin Williams gets Matt Damon to break down in Good Will Hunting.

"Its not your fault, son"

Also when Affleck realizes he's gone for good at the end. Never change the station when that one's on.
