No, I would not want my son to have a relationship with me that made it harder for him to have a close relationship with his spouse.
a) it isn't about me.
b) I love him, and that means I want what's best for him.
c) The separation and loss of closeness that comes with his aging is breaking my heart even now (he's a teen). But that's the way life is. Again, it isn't about me.

I am a woman. I tell my mom nearly nothing, and even less about my relationship with my husband.
