DH and I both do laundry and fold, but I do it more.

Each family member puts away their own clothes (2 kids). My 12 year old has started folding too sometimes.

My family would love to fold and put away their own clothes, but I like the clothes folded and put in the dressers, in a way that is very neat and precise. So, I do the folding and putting away of laundry.

I do the laundry and fold but have started to ask him to put it away himself because he kept asking me where things are. Now, finding his things is his own responsibility.

+1. I wash and fold everything, but I leave his in the basket to put away. Not out of spite; it just sort of grew out of how we did it when we lived together before we were even engaged. I guess I could put it away; maybe I will someday. I DO go the extra mile on pre-treating his clothes and hand washing/Shout Gel-ing all those shirt splatters, however.

Yes, I fold and put away DH's laundry, even if he's the one who washed it. It's one of the things I do, just like there are certain household chores that he has done for the 25 years that we've been married.

I washed and put away all my DH's laundry for our first 5ish years together, because we shared a hamper and the laundry machine was off the main room in our apartment. We now have two kids, laundry is down in the basement, and we have separate hampers because he keeps his clothes in another room. I do all my laundry and both kids, and will wash/dry his if he asks me to and I have a chance. But I am overwhelmed by all the laundry my messy preschooler and spit-up-y baby produce, so I just can't deal with his anymore.

We both do laundry and we both fold and put away our own clothes.

The thing that got me was the utter disbelief that I didn't put my husband's clothes away, and thus the underlying assumption that this is a 'woman's job.' Really happy that this is not the norm.

But that is not how you came on here. You posted with a "we are better because as a strong woman, I don't fold my husband's laundry! Hoo rah"

Good for you Rosie. I fold my husbands laundry. And he cooks all of our meals. I drive, he does the dishes.

I can't imagine getting clothes out of machine and saying, oh...this isn't mine, I'm just going to leave it right here. How...inefficient.

Yes. And DH folds and puts my laundry away too. I'd be shocked and bewildered if he did the laundry and didn't put my clothes away too and vice versa. Bean counting, that.

I married a military guy. They know how to do their own laundry, and he just happens to do the rest of the family's too!

No, I don't use my genitals to fold the laundry, and neither does my husband. We both use our hands, of which we both have two.

BIL once bragged to me that he has never down a single load of laundry and never will. 4 kids. His wife does it all. Why do woman let themselves get treated like this?

This. Plus I'm (DW) just not good at laundry. I have a lot of clothes so I do mine much less often. He is meticulous and folds it just so and does loads more frequently. He irons his own stuff too god bless the military for teaching him all that. I will throw a load in for him if I'm already doing a bunch of mine and he'll do the same but he puts his away always.

I sure do, but I don't do it alone. DH does laundry, too. I've learned not to critique his folding skills.
