I work at a small company and we share profits at the end of the year. We'll over half of my income comes in December. I actually love it because I've structured my life to live off my base pay only. This year my bonus was 110k before taxes (my base is 90k). I've been paid like this for 7 years and ad my company has grown, so has my bonus. 7 years ago it was 30k. Having this huge chunk is great because it is like a forced savings and there is so much that I can do with it at once than it trickling in over the year, plus I'm forced to live without it
