No.
Sometimes, depends on the length of the trip. I travel more often than DH does, and usually I don't miss him when I'm gone.
Married for 10 years.

No.
Yes. I miss him both personally and b/c it's a pain that I have to do drop off and pickup and dinner myself. Once he took a month-long international trip and I missed him TREMENDOUSLY.

Love him very much!

Try being married 30 years and get back to us.

tee hee! so true.

Seriously?? Who made you the king? All our opinions are valid.

It's like when someone complains about the terrible twos and the posters comment that the teenage years were way worse and their feelings about the terrible twos aren't valid.

together 25 yrs, married 15

So you have been married 15. Why do you have to state you have been together 25? Sucks he wouldn't marry you for ten years.

NP, but the information about length of time together (not just married) is relevant when talking about butterflies. If you cannot see the relevance when asking this question to newlyweds who met last year vs newlyweds who started 15 years ago, then you are being deliberately obtuse. And, FYI, some people were not allowed to marry until recently, some are very cautious about it for very good reasons, some are young when they met. Pretty telling that you came up with ONE (negative) reason why the marriage took 10 years.

Not just deliberately obtuse; mean.

  • Are you in high school? Crushes happen only once because it's new. After you marry, it goes away.

OP here. No, I'm not a high school student any longer. I'm long time married, pushing 20 years. I see that LOTS of people here still experience the butterflies or heart flutter at least occasionally, even after 5 or 10 or 20 years, so that is so heartening! So apparently it doesn't always go away.

I think the responses started out quite negative, but then the yesses started to our up. I think it is lovely.

  • Often, yes.

Often, yes. Sometimes I don't mind a little break.

    I'm a DH. Together for 12 years.

I am happy for you. I wish it were that way for me (DW).

Thank you. Sorry to hear that. How do you think he feels? Have you talked to him about this?

I've tried. I keep hoping when the kids are older it will get better again. I read posts like yours and they make me feel lonely. But it makes me hopeful for my children that maybe they will find a better relationship.

  • Sometimes. Usually when I catch a glimpse of him unexpectedly.

I love the first night, maybe first 2 nights of being alone, then I miss him.

    11 years next month.

Sometimes I get butterflies especially when he dresses himself up and puts on my favorite cologne of his before we go out for night out.

I actually don't miss him on business trips though because he snores terribly and I honestly get some of my best sleep when he's away.

    We've been married 7 years.
