Former DC teacher. The curriculum is nothing new. It's very old that is being reinvented as brand new. Not always the best administration.

I'm a Langley parent and I'm thrilled to have another private high school option for my son in VA. We have such limited choices and we weren't thrilled with the idea of sending him into DC for HS, but GDS really seems like the best fit for him. We are hoping that Basis will check all of the boxes for us.

For those asking who would pay $25k, it is likely the same people who would apply to other private schools and who are not eligible to lottery into the DC location. It may also be for people unhappy with the AAP program, or those at Nysmith who are looking for other options, or people who felt Nysmith or other private schools are not conveniently located to them. I'm sure there will be an audience for this. It isn't going to be for everyone.

Who is Chris? Who else did you meet? Did they all seem that way? I went to one of their information sessions and I saw Sean and two other women there (I guess they are the admissions dept.), but I don't think any of them were named Chris. I did not think they seemed the way you describe.
