Carl orders Enid to stay in the house and help him protect Judith. Then there is this exchange:
Carl: "did you see them?"
Enid: "they're just people. This place is too big to protect. There are too many blind spots. That's how we were able to- "
Carl (interrupts, and seems to not have even heard what she's saying): "they got in the walls, and they're going to die.... All of them."
I'm guessing that Enid realizes that "all of them" includes her, and that she's just got to go.
