You would be surprised. My husband just went through that and was royally pissed. They knew his requirements from start. Huge waste of time and travel and pto from his current job.

This happens a lot, I find. You tell them your current salary and what you're looking for. They say "Oh we can do that." Then they come back in with some BS offer that's much less than current and try to sweeten the pot by saying stuff like "But the comp plan is great! Bonuses!" Right. You can write a million dollar bonus into a job offer and make it look like a $1.2 million a year job and then never pay the bonus.

Glad to hear this... peace of mind, lack of toxicity, easy commute, etc., can all be monetized and factored into a lower salary but I'm glad you got a match. That's as it should be IMO.
