Exhausting but happy just like with your other kids! The older my DC gets the more I realize that I'm not alone. I'm 49 with a second grader and I see plenty of women my age with kids DC's age on the playground.

My cousin is pregnant with her third after years of SI - her youngest is 15! My cousin is...wait for it...46.
I can't imagine starting over when she and DH are just a few short years away from launching their youngest into the world.
Weird to think that she'll be 52 when her baby goes to kindergarten.

Not PP, but I assume her husband is the much older son from her first marriage. That is the more logical supposition.
Not really. The more logical supposition is that he married another, older daughter that his MIL had when she was not in her 40s, but younger.

My mom had my sister when she was 45. She was fine for first 10 years or so but found my sister's teen years very hard. My sister is now 30 and our mom has Alzheimer's. I'm 12 years older - Alzheimer's isn't easy at any age but it is sad that my mom will never know my sisters children. I don't think the question is so much how you will feel later but the impact on your kids.

You are going to be so happy and a bit tired - as all parents are! I was 38 with my first child so YES you can do it - even with a full time job.
