Anything is fine for shorter girls except basketball or volleyball IMO.

Basically just not basketball, volleyball, or goalie in soccer.

Chess is still considered a sport, isn’t it?

She can swim. The sprinters tend to be taller than the distance swimmers. Breaststrokers tend to be shorter than other stroke specialists, but none of the fastest kids are short. That being said, she can probably make the high school team at any height. Swim teams are usually no cut. You just have to go to practice before school. It’s a great life skill. I put my kids in swimming for at least a year, no matter what. My one child is not great at it, so we’ll let him quit once he can swim all the way across the pool.

Is she short and coordinated or short and uncoordinated? That would kind of help us guide you instead of throwing out she can do anything

this is my definitive list of sports based on kid type:

Short: Soccer
Tall: Basketball
Large: Football and later obscure Field sports like shot and hammer
Thin: Diving, Gymnastics
Average happy and athletic kid: Lacrosse. Volleyball.
Slow: Martial Arts. Bowling.
Fast: Track and CC
ADHD/Anxiety/Neurodiverse: Swimming. Crew.

Weird and stupid list

She can play any sport, but she'll have a competitive advantage in gymnastics and figure skating. She needs to start both quite young, though.

How old? I'm short and I've played almost every game:basketball, softball, ice hockey, volleyball, tennis, pickleball, golf, horseback riding, ice skating, ping pong

Short people can play all sort of games. Now if you want to be professional that's another story but, just to have fun? Try everything! I was too old when soccer came in but, am sure I would if had been younger.
