Rash guard. Everyone seems to wear them now, and they are a God send for the hairy backed sensitive guy. Also, it's totally impossible to get the sunscreen through the hair and onto the skin -- I'm so glad not to have to do that anymore.
And the rash guards are so tight that they show off the muscles from working out.

Saw a guy at the pool yesterday who looked like he was wearing a sweater and thought about this post. He was playing with his kids, having a good time, and I just kind of wanted to high five him. We're mammals. It's just one of those things.

I remember discussing this with a friend in college in the mid 80's and there was a guy who liked her but she could not get past all his hair and I told her I agreed with her.

If he is that sensitive, he should just throw on a rash guard. My DH wears one b/c of family skin cancer. I see rash guards on dads at our neighborhood pool all the time.

No one is looking at what any dad is wearing to the pool. Seriously, he needs to get over his ego that anyone cares about his rash guard, his back hair, or anything else. Once you are a dad, unless you are Brad Pitt, no one is checking you out. You become basically sexless.

Grown men are often hairy and grown women almost always have cellulite, yet we still seem to procreate and keep our civilization afloat. OP's husband needs to work out his insecurities and get in the damned pool with his kids.

I LOVE hairy men. My DH is hairy; however, he cares about his skin so he wears a rash guard. My DS wears a rash guard, as well. No big deal. Who cares?
