Subject: Would you take a 7:30am flight (leave house at 5:30am) to save $200
My entire family (kids are 8 and 4) is pretty sleep sensitive- we tried this once (up at 4:45, out of the house by 5:15) and it wasn't even that behavior was an issue, they (and we!) were just too pooped to do anything that afternoon once we got to our destination, even lounge by the pool. But if you don't have this type of family, go for it! It's nice because as others have noted, the plane is less likely to be delayed.

My girls loved sleeping in their clothes and rolling out of bed to the car to the airport. Ate breakfast on the plane (which killed time and by then they were awake enough to be hungry).
That is the exact reason to do this.
