Turn the tables right back. If he agrees to go if you go, then he must think you both need therapy. marriage counseling time.

You should each go see a counselor individually. Don't go to marriage counseling together- he will gaslight the counselor, too.

I strongly recommend reading "Why does he do that?" by Lundy Bancroft. The problem usually isn't anger management, it's entitlement.

I also recommend calling the National Domestic Violence hotline at 1-800-799- SAFE. They will have recommendations for what to do you in your situation.

If you are in Virginia, the Women's Center is an excellent resource as well.

Not the poster but I think she's in the same situation as the OP of this thread.

Remember OP, therapists, etc. may be licensed professionals however, they not immune to abusive partners either.

I knew a DV counselor who herself remained in an abusive situation but was helping others.

You need to take all the advice from everyone on here who said you need to leave. Pack your bags and never look back.
