i think it is appropriate to go to her concerts maybe 9+ would be mostly recommended for kids but if your taking your 8 or 7 year old there its totally fine since there are no inappropriate things by the fans or the artist in any way
no swearing in [b]all of her songs i think she is such a brilliant role model! but if in that young age maybe you should go with a parent! HAVE FUN!

Reputation is a more adult album than her prior ones. Some of her lyrics are pretty sexual - to the extent that my 11 year old DD told me a song was “inappropriate” when we were listening to the album in the car. No big deal, but if you’re strict about those things then you should check out her lyrics online first.

Reputation delivers as a great pip album, but it’s very superficial - her themes are pretty surface and narcissistic - but they’re very catchy and well-written.

Taylor Swift really isn’t a role model for teens and tweens anymore - she’s pure pop star, all crafted and curated image.
My DD went to the 1989 concert but we’ll skip this one - it’s too pricey.

My husband bought 2 extra tickets and is planning on selling them to pay for our tickets. Hopefully that will work out or I will be annoyed.

Well, I took my DDs when they were 4 and 6. They had a blast.

All the people responding are idiots!! Missed the whole point of the question. It was not about limos and expenses you morons! She was thinking would it be appropriate for a 9 year old to be exposed to the environment and maybe particular songs.
If you never gave it any though if your kid should go maybe you don't have a high moral standard standard.

I took DD to the Red concert at the Verizon Center when she was 10 and the 2015 Nats field concert when she was 12. I am the parent whose kid doesn’t get a smartphone until middle school, isn’t on social media until high school, etc. And the concerts were 100% appropriate at 10 and 12. Taylor Swift has made a career out of being a non-controversial good girl. Her concerts reflect that. And both concerts were swarming with tweens and their moms. DD will be 14 this summer, and has no interest in going to the Reputation concert. She’s outgrown Taylor Swift.

A couple of warnings though. It’s a concert, so late at night and loud. Your kid needs to be mature enough to manage that. And both of her concerts were LONG. Two warm up bands. Long intermissions between, and then a ten minute intermission every few songs for costume changes. The 1989 concert lasted almost 5 hours. It was just too much. If I had it to do again, I would probably arrive and hour and half or so late, and miss the first warm up band. Especially with a tween.

Besides that— go. Have fun. It’s a great first concert experience for a tween girl.

My daughter will be 8 when we go in July.

See, I don't but my 10yr old expensive things. So that rationalization doesn't work with parents that parent. Now parents who want to be cool, give their kids electronics, brand name clothes etc... Then I guess $500 for tickets, clothes, limo, and food is no big deal for a 9yr old. BE your kids best friend. Let them think they deserve it, let them be as self centered as you.
