Tithing is 10%, that is not a Mormon thing.

Subject: Joining a church- how much to pledge?
We pledged $600 and try to give $50 each time we remember our checkbook. We reach it pretty quickly and also give to the collection plate pretty frequently, so it probably adds up to much more. Which I'm glad about, because we could definitely afford more than $600, but I'm also not the one making the money right now.
