[My kid turned 3 in September, so I had an spot for Sept for her first dental exam. But DCPS told me she couldn't start school without the form in, so we had to reschedule the visit to August. Interesting that you never had to turn in the form--they started calling me about it in the summer.]

We are in a similar position, and they told us to turn in the forms now (without all of the three-year old requirements done) and turn in another updated form as soon as third birthday comes.

Do they actually require dental forms? I enrolled DC in our DCPS the other day and all they requested was an immunization record.

I never turned in dental forms last year and no one came after me.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhht. And when you are talking to your kids "because I told you so" is probably an acceptable response. But in the adult world sometimes that's not enough. The question isn't whether you can restate the prior position, but rather what the authority migt be for your statement. In the handbook? DCPS published guidance? The US Constitution? Hague Convention? When someone says that "legally" it is impermissible then that means there exists some external authority under the law that prohibits it. For instance, after round 1 Ludlow Taylor allegedly told someone they had like an hour or day to make a WL decision. Many poster observed that to do so would violate the published rules of the Handbook. And, FWIW, LT backed down and gave some half a**ed explanation that amounted to "my bad."

Our DCPS told us that the doctor's and dentist's forms could come later; the registration paperwork was most important.
