It wasn't a knock but a legit question. I've thought a school had strong teachers and open administrators before and when we came, it was not anything like I thought.

Switching to Shining Stars next year. Like the elementary group and it will take my child to 6th grade possibly 8th. Extremely strong teachers and open administrators. Pleasantly surprised. Not a HRC on DCUM yet--but will be.

We went private for the current school year. My DC is a precocious learner (at least for now!) and the differentiation just isn't there. IQ is off the charts gifted and DC was just simply bored. Teachers don't have time or resources available to provide advanced instruction and I wasn't willing to let DC grow disinterested in school. That said, as I also said on another thread, ITS is a very, very good school and we would've stayed if private wasn't an option. It just wasn't the right long term fit for US. At the current private DC is challenged daily -- we are happy with the switch.

Left for our IB WOTP school. Commute wasn't worth it. The allure of immersion started to wear thin. We weren't as committed as I thought we were when we first enrolled. Other factors became more important. Different strokes for different folks.

Ditto. Except I don't see the MV families hurrying at 7:20 - my husband and I are sipping coffee and will wake our kids up 10 minutes later.

At ITS, switching to YY next year. We're quite happy with ITS -- especially younger grades -- but immersion option was too tempting.

Pre-common lottery turned down LAMB and Stokes for one of the schools you listed.
