Being able to talk and understand each other is important, but I wouldn't go so far as to say it's *far* more important than sex. If I had to bet, I'd bet that there are more miserable marriages featuring plenty of communication and no sex than miserable marriages featuring plenty of sex and no communication.

No, she's our primary breadwinner. We both have professional careers but she earns 2-3x what I do depending on the year. We do have only one child.

I am a happily married wife # 1, and I concur with what most of these men are saying. For men sex feeds the love and for women love feeds the sex. Our marriage is great for many reasons but I also think that our compatibility in the bedroom plays a huge role. We both are high libido people and sex connects us as a couple. Outside of the bedroom, very often we are busy being a parent, spouse, friend, worker etc., it is only in the bedroom that you have the opportunity to be passionate lovers.

It is sex, but it's also what sex represents to a lot of men. I think some women fundamentally don't understand how sex ties into a man's feeling of being loved. It's not just chasing an orgasm. When a man's been with an asexual wife, he's been without love for a long period of time.

That's how I feel, and I'm the wife. Sex means love to some of us, too.
