I believe Mrs. M. is the current principal and I really liked her when she was the assistant principal years ago. One thing I will warn you about: it is hard to visit the school. I remember when we moved to the area I tried to visit before school started so my kids could see the school and I couldn't get in for various reasons. Also, I was often in the office (for PTA reasons) when the receptionists would get calls from prospective families and they just could not accommodate every request. Again, this was several years ago and there may be a different policy in place now but I don't want you to get a bad impression of the school if you can't visit. I was a little worried about sending my kids the first day without a visit (they were young and one has special needs). But I have to tell you that in the years we were there the office staff went so above and beyond to take care of my kids (and they did that for every kid). Since they spend so much time focusing on their students, they didn't have time for a lot of extras (which you will appreciate as a parent). I'd also encourage you to reach out to the PTA president (I believe the PTA has its own website) to ask any additional questions you have.

True, the word hate was not used...however the implication has been that it is a negative aspect of the school. My impression is that many of those posters have an issue with rich people...hate is probably too strong of a word, I agree.

I am not pretending anything but I am tired of seeing folks get their underwear in a twist over and over without telling me anything new. Its endemic to the whole of DCUM, frankly.
And to the poster who broke my question down to 3 bullet points. You seriously need an education. The "question" is only in your part 3, the first two parts were my observations.
I will visit the school and see for myself.
That is a good idea -- unlike asking anonymous posters on an Internet message board where you already know that people don't give you the answers you're looking for.
