Is Spanish important to you? I visited both. I preferred the environment at Burroughs and the principal is amazing. Definitely an up-and-coming school and I think it's got a ton of potential, especially now that it's breaking off from the middle school. Bethune has a lot of older kids and I wasn't as sold on its leadership or educational model. That being said, they do a lot of Spanish, I know people who are happy there, and the location is amazing for our family. Not sure one is necessarily that much "better" than the other; it's just which little pieces matter more to you.

I'd go with Bancroft. Deal/Wilson feeder + dual language. Only exception would be if kid has special needs (since Bridges is so good at that) or would struggle learning a second language, or if the commute to Bridges was so much better that everyone would be much happier.

Low wl numbers at both ssma and cap hill at logan montessori. We live a lot closer to ssma. And it's for upper grades.

If you aren't super committed to Spanish, ITS. Friends with kids in elementary (not prescho) say they underestimated how hard it was to support dual language if a parent doesn't already speak the language. I have heard nothing but great things about ITS.
We learned this the hard way. You should go to ITS.

DC has lots of friends and we are in bounds for Deal as is so that's not a deciding factor. As we move up in grades at ITS we don't feel the academics are as strong as we would like, don't feel confident in ITS hiring decisions (again for the upper grades), and am generally dissatisfied with the administration (lack of communication with parents and not very responsive to parents concerns and issues).
We already decided not to stay for middle school as we feed into Deal so wondering if it's better to move to Hearst where DC would follow a group on friends to Deal and hopefully be more challenged academically. Any former ITS parents who made the move to another school out there willing to chime in? Any current or former Hearst parents who can give insight?
Hearst parent of rising 2nd grader. In my experience the school has done a great job meeting kids where they are and challenging them appropriately for whatever level they are at. Of course we are only mid-way through 1st grade so can't comment on upper grades directly. I would invite you to the April 24th open house - 9:15 start - to meet Principal Thomas and ask her some of your questions. We will try to have some teachers available for q & a as well ...

^ And we may stay at our current school regardless...I'm just nervous about montessori for elementary and definitely would not want it for middle grades, so will leave at some point.

Curious about the PP who mentioned ITS and 2R being so different. We are currently in Montessori and were matched with 2r Young, but are very very close on the wait list for ITS. I would love to hear the differences. We went to both open houses, but its hard to really know a shcool based on that.
