Read "Homesick and Happy". Most of the camps discussed are 4, 6 and 8 weeks.

The articles talks about ONE week of summer camp, not shipping your kids away for 6-8 weeks. And sadly, most of the stuff they talk about: sit down dinners, no video games, good sleep, nature, day trips, adventure, etc... usually don't happen when parents work all the time. So they have to pay someone to offer that for their kids. We get it. No big deal.

Not OP, and not trying to hijack, but is there anything like Calleva in northern Virginia? I'm in western Fairfax and while transportation is offered, I'd need to get my kids to Mclean (same for Camp Friendship in VA).

The costs of Calleva are much more reasonable then Camp Friendship, too.
