I read this book review in the Post today and it made me think I'd this thread. This author seems incredibly immature, just like the OP.

No it wasn't, I was the "um- running away..." guy and I didn't post the +1.
If a guy posted the OP, he'd get ripped to shreds by the majority of posters. I find it hard to believe than anyone supports one partner wanting to run away for A YEAR and completely abdicate their responsibilities as a parent and spouse while the other still works and foots the bill.
Seems like the choice is that he
1) support her for a year as she has her mid-life crisis
2) write her a check for half their net-worth and divorce.
