As for Giuliani, I don't know what he was doing. I found it bizarre.
It's a huge deal. It shapes his current decisions to this country's detriment.
Unusual childhood does not mean he hates America. That doesn't even make sense, when you think about it.
So his childhood was different than mine. So was yours. So?
PP again. My husband was bullied relentlessly by his sibling, and his parents did little to stop it. Trust me when I tell you this has affected his decision-making time and again, affected our marriage, and shaped his personality.
Childhoods matter.

Giuliani is a mensch... liberals not so... liberals in fact are on the record wishing for the data of GWB and not a peep out of the sort who post here aggrieved that a man would have the temerity and the forthrightness to speak his mind.
Me thinks liberals doth protest too loudly and I dare say its those who are offended by Giuliani's tame comment that don't love this country.
Uh, most people don't even know about piss christ.
Giuliani is playing hack in order to get an administration job as a prize if the R's win.
What makes you say that? Most educated people who were adults in the late 80's are fully aware of that piece of "art" and the NEA's role. Talk about offensive!

Scott Walker doesn't know one way or the other about whether Obama loves America. He can't afford to alienate the nutters.
Anonymous wrote:Republicans: let me say that you are not doing a service to the Republican cause and longer term interests when you guys spout out this sort of nonsense.
One can disagree with Obama without casting aspersions on him. Giuliani's comments were asinine and the unwillingness of people like Scott Walker to just disown what he said does not speak well of him.
The only way there will be a Republican president the next go around is if moderates, independents and some Democrats can be persuaded to vote for a Republican. Giuliani's ridiculous remarks and the unwillingness of key Republicans to repudiate them will merely turn off the very voters who will make a difference.
To quote Jindal: "Republicans should not be seen as the stupid party".

How did you invent the fiction that Bill Ayers ghost-wrote Obama's books? One thing we know about Obama is his writing ability -- which admittedly exceeds his political skills with Congress.

You don't have to like it, but watch "America: Imagine a World Without Her" - then try to make the case that Obama does not agree with most or all of the critics of America portrayed in that film.
Giuliani is a moderate guy. He stayed with gay friends during his separation preceding his divorce; there's a famous photo of him in drag. Bloomberg was essentially his equal in running NYC (and he worked miracles in reducing the murder rate -primarily among people of color BTW). He is more of an independant like Bloomberg than any leading Republican.
The reason people suddenly hate moderate Giuliani is that he has exposed Obama as a radical. Look at the ghost-writer of Obama's book: Willialm Ayers. Can anyone seriously believe that Ayers does not hate America? That Ayer's wife, Bernadine, does not hate America?
Don't hate Giuliani for speaking the truth.

By the way, weren't America's Founding Fathers "anti-colonialist"?
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:How is what he said possibly racist?
He is blaming Obama's wack job, academic, commie mom, not his race.
I agree that Rudy's comments are not exactly racist, but he does play the theme of "foreign-ness" when it comes to Obama (doesn't love America, doesn't understand our country, etc.). There have been strains of this in the GOP for a long time -- Barrack Hussein Obama, the birth certificate obsession, suggestions that Obama is really a Muslim. It's still surprising that a cross-dressing, proudly Italian-American washed up politician would play up the foreigner angle.
