I stopped going there months ago. The bread is rock hard because it's burnt. Such a shame, it could have been a great bakery.

It's nothing to do with either being American or European you moron! The bread is overcooked, burnt or blackened, call it what you may. European bakers would laugh at this poor pretentious excuse for bread.

The brioche is quite good. A lot of the other ones the crust is too hard for me.

Not sure what you are referencing, but European breads are hard out the outside and chewy on the inside. And they aren't burnt, like this crap. It's like the people who (used to) defend starbucks by saying Americans couldn't appreciate darker European coffee, when in truth Starbucks is just burnt shit coffee.

It's fine if you like it, and enough people do that it apparently is able to stay open. Just don't try to impose your poor taste with some sense of superiority.

Their baguettes are amazing. I'm not sure about their other bread.
The croissants and doughnuts are terrific too.
Very flaky and flavourful. I used to love Starbucks coffee but I wonder
if they changed their beans or something as lately I don't like it.

I thought I'd give Bread Furst another chance after vowing never to go back, but left after looking at the burnt bread and ridiculous ordering system. I'm now officially done with this cluster f#*k of a place.
