It definitely does make a difference in HS, when colleges are looking at your GPA. Not so sure about college, unless the student plans to continue their education. If going directly into the work force, I really can't imagine a potential employer asking for this information. I'm sure it happens somewhere out there, but it has to be the exception. I've been out of college for over 25 years and have had multiple jobs and not once has an employer asked me for my collge GPA. Does this really happen?? What type of companies, employers ask for this information?


You are out of touch. Recruiters on campus are very aware of GPA and often ask for SAT scores as well. Investment banking, consulting, hedge funds, Google, Microsoft, Facebook. Many, many of them. GPA absolutely matters.

My DC loved the MCPS system. Definitely benefited way more from the 89.5s being an 4 than an 89.4 being a 3.
