My last boyfriend was very crass, but he never said something about me on the same level as you describe. He always celebrated my accomplishments. He also would never get that drunk. But he ended up dumping me. You did the right thing, keep your head high girl!

I've been with DW for 34 yrs. and have never said anything like this in public ... nor in private.

Ex BF is an insecure, aggressive little twat. Leave him in the gutter where he belongs and someone else can try to deal with him if he ever grows up.

+1. I hate when people say denigrating things and then they are like "can't you take a joke?" Such a cop out...like you can say whatever you want but as long as you say "it's a joke" at the end of it, it's all good- the other person is being too sensitive. OP, the pp who wrote that comment is wayyy off base and honestly your bf's comment and the pp's comment are examples of how we perpetuate a culture of violence and denigration of women in our society.

Of course I like him. In fact I'm in love with him. The part that hurt was even after explaining he didnt see how it cools hurt me. He likes to joke around but saying " did you suck his dick or let him bend you over the desk to get the promotion?" isn't ok. He said that in front of 3 of his friends and 2 of mine. It made me question what he really thinks of me and if he cares at all about my feelings.

I just turned 22 and he is going to be 27 in December.


Run, run, run. You are too young, and he is old enough to know better. Major red flag. Especially the lack of empathy once you made your feelings known.
