I would feel like a complete failure. I would vow never to let it happen again. I would feel tremendous guilt. The LAST thing that would occur to be would be to blame someone else.
My goodness. I don't feel like a failure at all. I counted that if I was late, the kid would just stay on the bus and I'd pick her up from school. No big deal.
Oh my gosh you are clueless. The bus driver is not your after school daycare provider. Really, this is why some people should not have children.

Anonymous wrote:+ a million. This is not a national emergency. Teach your kid what to do if she expects you to be there and you're not. This obsessively protective parenting crap is getting out of control.

"I was running late" in OP's post sounds pretty lame.

No one is saying you are the parent or caregiver but would you just leave a child wandering like that? I wouldn't and I'm not someone who decided to go into child education.
YOU left the child wandering like that!
What if I was in a hospital or had a car accident or something? Things happen.

The school should not drop off a five year old alone.
Agree. Plus 1.
Anonymous wrote:Not OP, but I don't think a driver should drop 5 year old off without a parent present. The driver should have kept her on the bus and taken her along with him as he finished his drops, then called you to pick her up from wherever the bus ends up.
