You needn't apologize. Since beauty is in the eye of the beholder, you can bet your bottom dollar that more than a few posters here are probably not considered 'attractive' by certain standards, and I'm not talking about Vogue mag standards. Though they probably think they are the finest thing on the face of the earth....by their standards and theirs alone.

For instance, I never understood all the hoopla over Julia Roberts (her smile reminds me of Batman's Joker villain). So, there you have it. It's in the eye(s) of the beholder.

Probably more than just a few. This is DC after all.

I don't think of them as attractive or unattractive. They look like a normal middle/upper middle class couple -- normal looking, relatively conservatively dressed people wearing expensive business suits. What does being clean shaven have to do with anything? Are you implying that he's too lazy to shave or something else?

I agree with you that they are the prime example of people who were born on third base but think they hit a triple. The reality is we don't know where they'd be if they were just Chelsea and Marc of Little Rock Arkansas or Harrisburg Pa because their last names have shaped their accomplishments. I do think Chelsea is smart, but there are thousands of kids just as smart who apply to Stanford and are rejected every yr. Were they really going to reject the first daughter? Stanford got the ball rolling for her and after that she got into jobs at McKinsey, NBC etc -- again she is smart but lots of very smart kids get rejected from those kinds of jobs all the time. Of course NBC wanted her on the air -- even though she only reported 1-2 times every few months max. Lots of famous people benefit from their fame, though it's good that she's used her fame for education, jobs, and now running her parents' foundation which does do good works.

I wouldn't mind a laid back husband. If he takes the lead on the baby thing, it might be perfect. She can keep running the foundation and eventually go into politics and he can be the SAHD.

Everyone that I know have a name that could also be a first name as a second name. This must be a new American custm. If you look at geneology, there is no great granny Agnes Jones Smith, Alexander Kardasian Hilton

Women do this to give their children their maiden name. Surely you can understand that. And it's been going on for a while. Also, family names in general are common as middle names. Both my kids have my maiden name as their middle name.

Very common. My mother and all her sisters did this as a way to carry the family name (a fairly prominent one) on to their children.

I don't know if it's about his laziness. Lots of hedge fund people, make money, quit/move on, take 2-3 yrs off, find a different hedge fund etc. It's that he uses that downtime to do what he wants without his wife. Who would get married, take one of these breaks from a job and then move out to Jackson Hole WY -- without their new wife -- to go live the ski bum life?? Chelsea was flying back and forth to see him every few weeks. Wouldn't you take your wife with you?? He's apparently done it since them as well. They have money and she has fame -- it's not like her employer (Clinton Foundation or NBC where she appeared sporadically at best) is requiring her to be at the office 40 hrs a week -- she can work from wherever her husband wants to live.
